Anyone moving in to a new home should make sure they have their boiler checked to make sure that it will not cause them any problems in future, one expert has warned
Julian Mears, a spokesperson for British Gas, explained that although new boilers need inspecting less often than older ones, it is still something which needs to be done on a regular basis.
He said: "We'd say that you should have your boiler checked two to three times a year on average."

Mears added: "We wouldn't advise people to diagnose the health of their boiler on their own. It's what people pay us to do so people should leave it to the experts."
Anyone moving in to a new home who was concerned about any aspect of the property's boiler should contact an expert and let them examine it, he concluded.
According to gas watchdog, Corgi, one in ten people know someone who has died from carbon monoxide poisoning, something which can result from a faulty boiler.
